Biography & Highlights
You'll hear the bass rattling the front windows way before you reach the porch on Ormsby Avenue. Pittsburgh house shows don't get much more raw than this Mount Oliver spot. Cash only at the door, and you're stepping straight past a pile of amp cases into a packed living room that's already radiating pure heat. Heavy room. The crowd fills every square inch of the floor, spilling right up against the makeshift gear drop while local punks pile in from the street.
It's loud, sweaty, and completely stripped-down. There aren't any corporate security guards or fancy drink menus here, just coolers stocked with cheap cans and whoever brought snacks for the green room. PA sound bounces hard off the low ceilings, turning every guitar chord into a wall of pure noise. You can't hear yourself think between sets, but nobody's trying to chat anyway. Everyone's just standing shoulder-to-shoulder, watching local bands tear through rapid sets right on the floorboards.
Shows run late, neighbors know the drill, and the front door stays propped open with a brick to let the night air drift inside. Line moves slow when it's packed out. You'll stumble back out onto the sidewalk with ears ringing and amp hum stuck in your teeth.
